Bill Adams is leading a team to London, England for 12 days of ministry Oct. 19 – Nov. 1.
GWP '18: The second annual George Whitefield Program Training Week was even better than the first one. In addition to the fundraising track this year Bill Adams added a homiletics track. The week was filled with wonderful fellowship, much time in corporate prayer, and some wonderful teaching on homiletics. My preaching skills were greatly enhanced and my knowledge of expository preaching greatly increased through the wonderful teaching. My family was able to join me and they too had a great time with the other families. Throughout the week the families visited a diary factory, a museum, and took the kids to play at a park. Having dinner and fellowship in the evening with all the other families together was a tremendous joy. We concluded every night with a two-hour worship service followed by an hour of prayer. I certainly enjoyed my time at the Whitefield Training week this year and I am already looking forward to 2018. I would highly recommend that you consider joining us next year for the third annual GWP Training Week.
GWP '17: I heartily recommend the George Whitefield Training Program for any and all men looking to be further equipped to preach the Gospel.
Prayer was a needed focus during the week and it was a special time each day praising and crying out to God and hearing the prayers of my dear brothers for hours each day. If you have never prayed extensively in a corporate setting like this, you don't know what you're missing.
Pastor Rick Light taught on Homiletics throughout the week and there was much to learn from what he taught us about preaching the word. In addition, because of his 30+ years experience as a pastor and herald, he had lots to teach us about the character qualifications of and the holiness any man called to preach God's truth much strive for.
Elder Mark Baker had only one teaching session but it was fantastic. "Tracing the argument" is a worthwhile tool that will benefit any preacher in any setting.
Pastor Nathan Tarr taught four lessons on church history chock full of information. Sometimes a history class can be boring, but not this one. Pastor Nathan brought a wealth of information combined with his own personal passion for church history and kept everyone engaged and asking great questions. A knowledge of church history is a must for preachers.
Each of our instructors for the week also brought valuable feedback about the student's sermons. Personally, I believe the most profitable way to learn about preaching and improve is to do it and receive constructive analysis from others who have done it longer and do it better than you.
My wife and children were also blessed by the times of fellowship each day with the other families attending. The family service each night was a blessing as we were all able to worship the Lord together will our energetic and joyful worship leader Ricky and young and old heard the word of God preached.
The George Whitefield program was very educational and edifying. It is a very worthwhile investment in your ministry/education. Thank you Bill Adams for making this training available and Meredith Adams for all of the wonderful meals you prepared for us.
By God's grace and for His glory,
1 Timothy 1:15
GWP '17: Enjoyed everything from the solid teaching/preaching to the strong emphasis on prayer. Precious time with like-minded believers. Gorgeous area of our country to awe in God's creation.
GWP '17: It was a pure pleasure to be around a room full of men that are seeking God. The most inportant thing I
took away from the week is that, I have to have a more clear and convining message of who Jesus Christ is, the only begotton son of God.
GWP '17: I am overwhelmed in the boundless, fathomless, and infinite depths of His great grace. It was truly a blessed time at the George Whitefield program and the Lord was so gracious to teach me such precious and weighty truths from the week-long training. God's abounding grace was evident from the first day of the week as we had sweet holy fellowship, Christ-saturated teaching & preaching, and heart-warming prayer & worship all week long. The week was filled with the awestruck wonder of the great and glorious gospel of our dear Blessed Lord Jesus Christ. God really sanctified and grew my heart to a more wholehearted devotion to Christ's Supremacy and lost souls.
By God's grace, I was able to deepen my growth and love in Christ, understand how to be a biblical evangelist, further solidify the calling God has placed on me, and learn from other seasoned godly evangelists, seminary professors, and pastors. The biggest thing God showed me throughout the entire week is to be intoxicated in prayer at all times and through this, my heart will be constantly renewed with fresh joys and a more burdened longing for (lost) sinners to be saved. To God alone be the glory.
GWP '17: This year was my first time attending the George Whitefield program. I was part of the homiletics tract this year where we presented the Gospel in 30 minutes from certain scriptures that were given to us, which were evaluated by our peers. And that alone was worth the money and time. In addition we had instruction on hermeneutics, church history, the necessity of moral purity. But the highlight of the 16 hour days was the 3 hours we dedicated each day to prayer time where we pleaded for the LORDS’s help to strengthen and encourage and to put His love in our hearts. Even though I’m not called to full time evangelism I would do this again.
My week at GWP training was a very fruitful time and well worth it. As usual Bill did an excellent job creatively putting together this opportunity to get together with like minded believers. It was rich in food, fellowship, teaching, learning, worship, and prayer. The physical setting (see the pictures) was very conducive to a relaxed time as there was quite a display of nature. Its a place where you can let loose a little. One of the men challenged us to be more like John the Baptist by demonstrating his particular diet, ew! (I don't know where Bill comes up with ideas). I plan to go to as many of these as I can. Hope to see you there at the next one!
In His Grip,
I had such a great time at the GWP training week. I found it very spiritually refreshing and very informative. I enjoyed great fellowship with a group of diverse, yet faithful saints. Though there were many minor doctrinal differences among us, we dwelled together in such unity. The teachings were excellent as well as very practical and beneficial. This event is a must attend for anyone who is seriously considering full-time ministry. I have learned a lot about raising ministry partners as well as sustaining myself in full-time evangelistic ministry. I feel that I have been thoroughly equipped to maintain a long and faithful full-time ministry for the glory of Christ. I am already looking forward to next year’s event. - Jamie Terry Evangelist with the George Whitefield Program
Thank you for the invitation to the George Whitefield seminar. All three topics were presented in an informative and insightful manner. Cindy and I are already making plans to incorporate certain aspects of the training into our model for ministry. I am confident that the Lord will bring other concepts that were presented to mind as the need arises.
May the Lord bless your ministry and continue to expand your territory for His Glory.
