Game Summaries

9/7 – vs. Citadel Bulldogs

First home game, very beautiful day. We found a great spot outside Elon Community Church. It is located 10 mins away from Rhodes Stadium. Elon Community Church is a universalist church, they had outside on the front lawn doors painted in rainbow with the words “God’s Doors Are Open to All”

I had join me Jon Kucewicz and Gary Purgason. All three of us took turns preaching and handed out gospel tracts and ‘What Time Is Purple’ books. A woman named Mackenzie from Elon News Network came and took our photos. She asked if we were protesting the rainbow doors outside the church, but I told her we are not protesting anything we are here with Sports Fan Outreach International. She asked if we agreed with the doors and we both said we disagree with the message on the doors and that Jesus is the only way. She heard the gospel clearly. Pray the Lord uses this for her salvation.  Here is the article she wrote on us! https://www.elonnewsnetwork.com/article/2019/09/local-christians-gather-outside-elon-church

Gary was preaching and had an angry alumnus walk by and say he would bash Gary’s head and he was upset we were preaching near a football game.  We had a lot of middle fingers from people driving by. But overall it was a good day of ministry and is the start of a very interesting ministry.

We will be back on Saturday, September 28th as the Elon Phoenix host the James Madison Dukes. We will meet outside Elon Community Church again. You can park at the church for free. If you want to carpool from Target let me know. Thank you for the prayers!

More About Samuel:

Samuel Wilking – Mebane, NC

My name is Samuel Wilking. I have lived in Mebane, NC my whole life. In 2012 the Lord granted me repentance and I was born again. I also graduated from Alamance Community College with my associate’s degree in advertising and graphic design in 2019.

For a long time growing in my walk with Christ, I have tried many different ways to see where I fit in ministry. Thanks to a few believers I met I was able to get plugged into open-air preaching. Since January 2019 I have committed my time to learn street evangelism/open-air preaching. I have spent a lot of time at an abortion clinic in Raleigh, NC once a week pleading with women to spare their children, and spending time with Gospel of God Ministries on some Friday nights and comic cons. I also design my gospel tracts to distribute to people on the street that are quick and easy to read.

The goal now in ministry is to use all that has been learned to continue with spreading the gospel in Alamance County, NC. I will be spending time at Elon University on game day to open-air preach and give the gospel to a needy university. It is a pretty liberal-minded university. The football program has grown in popularity and will be a great chance to reach college students, fans, professors, and alumni.
