Game Summaries

9/14 – vs. Montana

Late game this week, later than normal, so we were blessed to minister the gospel under the bright lights.  The team handed out over 1,000 tracts!  Absolutely amazing!  I think of the Spurgeon quote “When preaching and private talk are not available, you need to have a tract ready … A touching gospel tract may be the seed of eternal life.”  We trust our Sovereign God to bear the fruit, and are humbled by the opportunity to hand out so many.  My two sons, in particular, were tracting machines!

We were preaching the entire time, with very few breaks.  Using the story of the Rich Young Ruler, and his insistence that he was good even though Jesus clearly proclaimed that there is no one good but God, many of those walking by were interacting with the question with bold proclamations that they were indeed good.  The gospel truth was proclaimed to them, and once again we trust our Good God to save.  The sheer numbers of people boasting in their idolatry was a sobering experience.  May God alone get the glory.

9/7 – vs. Nevada

We had a fantastic day of ministry at the U of O game on Saturday.  No rain!

When the day started, I expected only my 13 yr old son would be joining me.  Got a last minute call from a new ministry partner Mike Brown, and then at the gates met Andy Schmelzer preaching the gospel.  God is so good, and provided so much encouragement!

Being our first game, the sheer numbers of people overwhelmed.  Thousands walked past us and heard the gospel, hundreds received tracts.  We pray for them all!

On so many occasions, I so desperately wanted to see folks celebrate with me the excellencies of Christ. But the work of saving souls is His. Worthy is Christ to be praised!  Looking forward to next Saturday night!

More About Ryan:

Ryan Clark – Grants Pass, OR

I am so blessed! I recently celebrated 20 years of marriage, and the Lord has granted us 4 children. If we get the chance to serve the Lord together, you will likely meet, at a minimum, my sons. We live and preach the gospel here in Southern Oregon.

The Lord saved me at 15, and has faithfully brought me through many highs and lows. I studied at Moody Bible Institute and Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary to be a pastor, but currently I am a teacher in a youth detention facility. 3 years ago I was encouraged to pray a prayer every day. So I set up a reminder, to give me a notice at 10:02 am. The prayer, taken from Luke 10:2: “Lord of the harvest, I pray you send workers into the field, for the harvest is ready, and the laborers are few.” When you ask the Lord to send out workers, don’t be surprised when He ends up sending you! For over a year now, I have joined up with other saints of God who minister throughout Oregon at fairs, festivals, parades, city streets, and everything in between. This is my second year preaching the gospel at the University of Oregon with SFOI.
