Game Summaries

10/27 – vs. Tennessee

Tens of thousands were in attendance for this game between USC and Tennessee in Columbia, SC. Many heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ clearly proclaimed, as well as engaged in several conversations. Many believers also offered encouragement. Please pray for the salvation of all who are lost, as well as that the Lord will raise up other local believers to go into the harvest field here in Columbia to proclaim the Gospel. Let us continue to thank the Lord for the favor shown by law enforcement.

10/6 – vs. Missouri Tigers

Thousands of people were on hand for this SEC game with good crowds coming in waves through out the morning. The Gospel of Jesus Christ was proclaimed leading up to kickoff, as well Bibles and Gospels of John being passed out. Many people were encouraged by the OAP, including law enforcement officials thanking me for proclaiming Christ. Some low level opposition was noted- some mocking and drive by remarks. Several brief conversations were had, including one with a young man who was covering the game and taking pictures for the Columbia Missourian paper. He admitted he was a nonbeliever. He heard the Gospel plainly, as well as received a Gospel of John. Please pray for his salvation, as the salvation of all those who are lost, including the cultural “Christians”. Give thanks to the Lord for the continued support of law enforcement. Thank you and God Bless.

9/8 – vs. Georgia Bulldogs

An estimated 80,000+ in attendance for this big SEC game, with thousands hearing of the Lord Jesus Christ through open air preaching, the distribution of Gospel tracts and Gospels of John, and one on one conversations. Much resistance to the Gospel noted today, with many, apparently thinking themselves to be above the need for God’s grace. One has to wonder how many of these souls will be sitting in church tomorrow out of habit rather than out of hearts filled with thanksgiving for God’s mercy and love manifest at Calvary. Please pray for the salvation of those who heard of the person and work of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Give thanks to the Lord for sending three faithful saints here to Columbia from Georgia (a 3 hour trip one way) to labor in this harvest field – Alex Burt, Rich Suplita, and Mary Kathryn Suplita. It was truly an honor and a blessing to labor with these faithful brothers and sister.

9/1 – vs. Coastal Carolina Chanticleers

Just over 75,000 people attended USC vs Coastal Carolina in Columbia, SC where Christ was proclaimed through open air preaching, the distribution of Gospels of John, Bible, and Gospel tracts, as well as several conversations. Overt hostility was minimal, but primarily obvious “cultural Christians”, and some mocking. Give thanks to the Lord for the favor demonstrated by law enforcement (a City of Columbia police officer on a bike came over to me while preaching to make sure I had water). Give thanks also for the encouragement given by fellow believers. Please pray for scales to be removed from eyes, for hearts to be softened, and for the lost who heard Christ proclaimed to be brought to saving faith.
