About

As an unbeliever in 1970, I remember proudly writing a university philosophy essay "proving" that God doesn't exist and mocking a campus gospel message by Dr. Akbar Abdul-Haqq. Drawn into the drug culture, I fell into a life without purpose, where God humbled me by allowing me to be fired from three jobs and afflicting me with a psychotic breakdown while traveling in Western Europe. At Vancouver's inner city Revival Centre on October 19, 1974, God called me forward to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ as my Saviour, where I received my first Bible.

In August 1976, I started in the steam plant of the pulp mill near Gibsons, BC, and stayed there until I retired in October 2008. Through a mutual friend, God brought me a lovely wife on April 14, 1979, and together we raised two boys and two girls. After a two-year battle with cancer, my four year old granddaughter was called to Heaven in October 2016 and after six months with cancer, my wife of 40 years entered God's Eternal Home on December 7, 2019. By His grace, I married a beautiful Christian woman on November 20, 2021. We now share six grandchildren and serve Him in our church and community.

I first met Bill Adams and some SFOI team members providentially on the ferry from Gibsons to Vancouver during the 2010 Winter Olympics and accepted their invitation to distribute tracts. We have maintained contact since and I am thankful for his invitation to participate in this year's MLB All-Star Outreach.
