Game Summaries

Evangelism was very different this time at North Carolina for the last game. Many people from around the area who know me from street preaching in Graham, NC were there to try and make sure I would leave campus. They warned others about me on Twitter. These are people I have street preached to before.

So I set up in the Pit again as last week, I was not sure if any street preachers would be there or not. For the most part seemed like it would just be me. So some local guys who are friends with me, not sure where they are spiritually, but thankful to the Lord for them anyways, came out to make sure I was safe, a man named Thomas and also a guy named Officer Bob. The counter protesters knew them as well so it was an interesting interaction. Earlier in the morning another brother in Christ named Samuel woke up to come and help preach. He said the Lord woke Him up and was tugging on His heart to go and help me! Big answer to prayer!

I had a lot of back and fourth preaching dialogue with the counter protesters, about 7 of them were there. Eventually it became useless as all they were doing was getting on a megaphone telling everyone how racist I am.

To Antifa and BLM, anybody who leans slightly to the right is an Alt-right, neo-nazi, racist. Doesn’t mean you are, it’s the new name they give you to persecute with.

Samuel and I were able to split off and officer Bob and Thomas kept them occupied on another part of campus where a confederate monument used to stand. There were more people by the gate of the stadium and me and Samuel started handing out gospel tracts and preaching until kick off.

Thankful to the Lord for His protection and the gospel being proclaimed.

Please pray for the salvation of these counter protesters individuals, Lindsey and Chase. They need Christ and the Lord has given them over!

Thank you again for praying!

It was just me, I went and preached at a place we call the Pit at the UNC Student Stores. Can’t have amplification so it’s a place every street preacher goes and the buildings echo your voice. There were a lot of UNC Alumni and their families listening as they walked by, along with some Irish alumni. I preached on ‘What Happens When You Become a Tar Heel Dead’, part of their fight song that goes “I'm a Tar Heel born I'm a Tar Heel bred And when I die I'm a Tar Heel dead.”

Had no backlash, I might have more next week as the UNC Anti-Racist Twitter page gave an alert Saturday I was there and telling people to warn them when I come back on campus. But praying for more opportunities next Saturday.

More About Sam:

Samuel Wilking - Mebane, NC

My name is Samuel Wilking. I have lived in Mebane, NC my whole life. In 2012 the Lord granted me repentance and I was born again. I also graduated from Alamance Community College with my associate's degree in advertising and graphic design in 2019.

For a long time growing in my walk with Christ, I have tried many different ways to see where I fit in ministry. Thanks to a few believers I met I was able to get plugged into open-air preaching. Since January 2019 I have committed my time to learn street evangelism/open-air preaching. I have spent a lot of time at an abortion clinic in Raleigh, NC once a week pleading with women to spare their children, and spending time with Gospel of God Ministries on some Friday nights and comic cons. I also design my gospel tracts to distribute to people on the street that are quick and easy to read.

The goal now in ministry is to use all that has been learned to continue with spreading the gospel in Alamance County, NC. I will be spending time at Elon University on game day to open-air preach and give the gospel to a needy university. It is a pretty liberal-minded university. The football program has grown in popularity and will be a great chance to reach college students, fans, professors, and alumni.
