My name is Justin Johnson. I’ve been married to my wonderful wife, Ashley, since 2009 and we have 5 children. We are members of of Reformation Church of Shelbyville. We currently live in Shelbyville, KY.
I grew up Catholic, never understood the Gospel, and always thought it was such a shame that Christ died. I never knew why He died. Eventually, I considered myself an atheist until 2012 when I decided to attend a Bible information class that my wife’s pastor held for me. It was there that I finally heard the Gospel and understood why Christ died. It was amazing to finally see and understand it all, that my sins were placed on Him and His righteousness given to me, all by grace through faith.
Shortly after that, it hit me that this meant that all those who are without Christ are without hope, that they will all be cast into the Lake of Fire for their sins against God. When I realized that, I had a burning desire to proclaim and share Christ with those around us. Ever since then, my family and I have been doing various evangelistic and outreach efforts and have grown and learned much along the way.
Our prayer is that God would be glorified in our preaching and that sinners would be saved and be able to join us all in the eternal worship of God in His presence forever.
In the service of our King,
Justin Johnson

“Bill’s goal with SFOI and the GWP has been to mobilize the next generation of George Whitefield’s. This goal combined with KYFITT provide a powerful remedy of faithful heralds of the King, rightly proclaiming His word and living a life fully and totally committed to prayer, study and preaching the word."
Biblical Theology plays a crucial role in preaching, as it seeks to uncover the overarching themes, concepts, and purposes of Scripture and how it points to Christ. By understanding the overarching themes and motifs in the grand narrative of the Bible, we can gain a deeper appreciation for the continuity of God's message across different books, authors, and genres.
This helps us interpret and connect various passages and themes across the entirety of the Bible, allowing us to present a holistic view of God's character, his plan of salvation, and our role in his story.
Additionally, grounding our preaching in a solid Biblical Theology foundation can help avoid theological errors and pitfalls which diminish exalting Christ and showcase a greater, deeper Gospel connection to those we preach to.
