Bonnaroo Music Festival

What is happening

The Bonnaroo Music Festival has been scheduled for June 12 - 14, 2025 in Manchester, TN.

The Bonaroo Music Festival is one of the largest such events in the U.S. bringing in approximately 80 to 100 thousand people each year. The Festival is located on a 700 acre farm in Manchester. There is a public county road that runs right through the heart of it and provides great ability to preach to multitudes of people. It is truly a dark place with open blatant immorality and sin, where people need to be confronted with the Gospel.

Lord willing SFOI will be there and is looking for 16 men to join the team to preach the Gospel to the fans and local citizens; minister to them in the moment and to potentially refer them to a Bible teaching church or ministry for discipleship.

The goal is to evangelize and minister to the fans as they come and go from Festival activities and the local citizens who are in the area as well.

If you can't attend "Sponsor An Evangelist" (donate the fee) for someone to go in your stead: SAE.

Ministry Report by Corey Lindsey:

I had the privilege of leading 15 men in the 2025 Bonnaroo outreach. We all convened at Rutledge Falls Baptist Church near Manchester, TN on a Thursday evening with plans to evangelize on Friday and Saturday. Shortly after everyone arrived we discovered that one brother who had signed up, Lucas Call, had never taken the step of being baptized. So we all went across the road to the falls for which the church is named and pastor Eric Swinney baptized Lucas. It was a wonderful way to kick off the weekend.

Evangelists preaching during the Bonnaroo Music Festival

Friday morning we had a sweet time of prayer, worship, and teaching. Then it was off to the farm. The Bonnaroo music festival is held every year on a huge farm in Manchester, TN. Over 80,000 people were there this year to listen to live music and partake in all sorts of sinful activities. The odor of marijuana was strong in the air all day long, and men and women were walking around with very little covering their bodies.

We arrived shortly before 10:00am, split up into three teams of five, and immediately began open-air preaching and handing out gospel tracts. We faced strong opposition all day long. The intense hatred toward God and the gospel was unlike anything I’ve seen in my life. One of our teams had four bags full of trash hurled at them as they preached. Water bottles were tossed in our direction as well. Several festival goers tried their best to disrupt the preaching by shouting all kinds of blasphemy. One man, who claimed to be a pastor, kept shouting to anyone who would listen that we were preaching a false gospel and that God was okay with homosexuality and drug use. “You be you” was his message. Yet through it all the men preached on undeterred.

Meaningful conversations with some of the Bonnaroo Music Festival goers

Every single one of the men showed great patience and grace in the face of all the hostility. No one reviled in return. The true gospel of Jesus Christ was faithfully preached for nearly six hours. Toward the end of the day the skies opened up and intense heavy rain fell on the just and the unjust. So much rain fell that afterward it looked like a river was flowing through the middle of the farm. The organizers had no choice but to cancel the last two days of the festival. We were already back at the church and several men were already asleep when we learned that we would not be able to return to the farm for more ministry on Saturday.

Times of fellowship, worship and teaching

We still had prayer, breakfast, worship, and teaching Saturday morning. Then we said our goodbyes and headed home. I am convinced that God had seen enough of the wickedness and outright hostility toward Him and His people and flooded the festival out. I live less than two miles from the festival site and when I got home my yard was barely wet at all.

Overall we all had a blessed time of fellowship and ministry. In the midst of the hatred and hostility there were still many wonderful conversations. You could see the brokenness in many people. One young man was very convicted and said he wanted a Bible so that he could learn more about Jesus. I had a few Bibles in my backpack so I gave him one.  I know the Lord is drawing many of these people to Himself. We planted the seeds. May others water and may God give the increase. To Him be all the glory!
