I grew up attending church and knew God had a son named Jesus, and that heaven and hell are real. But when I'd ask how to know if I was going to heaven, I was told that if I was good enough. God would probably let me in. I tried really hard but kept sinning. Then in college, a friend told me no matter how hard I'd tried, I'd never be good enough because I'm a sinner. Only Jesus was ' good enough.  I finally confessed my sins, admitted I could not live right on my own and asked Jesus to forgive me and help me live for him. I'm still not perfect, but I am forgiven.
