Keep Your Finger in the Text “What’s the Point?” Workshop
October 1, 2024 - December 31, 2024
7:00 PM CT/8:00 PM ET
We would all agree as open-air preachers we are to preach the Gospel, but what does that look like?
What is encompassed when we say, "the gospel?"
Can the Gospel be found from Genesis - Revelation without forcing it?
The workshop will take place over 12 weeks and consist of 8 instructional sessions and 4 small group sessions. We will pursue gospel connections grounded in God’s word.
In this workshop, as an open-air preacher, you will:
· Receive expert instruction from seasoned preachers.
· Examine a text to determine legitimate connections to Christ grounded in text.
· Recognize the various functions and facets of the gospel as God's plan of redemption unfolds culminating in Jesus Christ.
· Steer clear of preaching the same gospel in every sermon as well as recognize the pitfalls and warnings in preaching Christ and him crucified.
· Apply what you've learned to biblical texts through interactive, hands-on examples and small group sessions.
This is a unique opportunity to join a community of like-minded preachers and share your experiences and ideas. Through interactive lessons, discussions, and assignments, you will have the opportunity to interact and apply what you've learned, as well as receive personalized feedback on your work.
Whether you are a seasoned preacher or just starting out, this workshop is an opportunity to enhance your skills and deepen your connection with the word of God discovering how God is accomplishing his plan of redemption which culminates in Jesus Christ, and bring its message to life in your sermons.
