Game Summaries
11/19 - Saturday morning was a cool and about 20 degrees outside Hancock stadium in Bloomington, IL. I was joined by long time SFOI veteran Ken Hisle. We preached and handed out tracts to a number of fans on the blustery morning, attending the Redbirds’ season finale. We received encouragement, disappointed glares, and apathy as the fans paraded into the stadium. Fans heard the name of Christ Jesus. They were told of His deity, perfect life, death, and resurrection. They were admonished and pleaded with to turn from sin and trust in Jesus. It was a great Privilege and I extend my gratitude to the Lord and SFOI for encouraging me in the ministry of the Word.
10/1 - The ISU football game on Saturday October 1st was evangelized by myself and another faithful brother, named Jeff Haab. Many tracts were distributed to the thousands of Redbird fans in attendance. We were also blessed with favor to preaching issuing amplification right in front of the ticket gate of the stadium. Many heard the truth of God’s saving gospel and the Kingship of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Some mocked and reviled, some encouraged, and one young man approached and asked for prayer, seemingly being under deep conviction. A mother and her two young children stopped and listened for a number of minutes and I was able to dialogue with the young fellow concerning gospel truth. It was a blessing and a privilege to represent Christ that day.
9/10 - The Isu football game on Saturday was evangelized by a few faithful men on Saturday, September 10th. After setting up our signs and distributing Gospel literature on the sidewalk in front of the stadium, we were informed by campus police we could not use amplification without a permit. The conflict was quickly resolved as we set up the preacher across the street and continued to hand out tracts in a prime location. Some local street evangelists saw us ministering and decided to stop and add their efforts to the cause. Jesus Christ was made much of and the lost were called to turn to Him in faith!
In Christ,
Jacob
